Mayford House Surgery., Northallerton. The smaller of the two Northallerton
practices serving the town and surrounding villages. In 2000 we moved from
our old cramped premises in the centre of the town to our new location on
Boroughbridge Road. We have a long standing commitment to teaching
having been a training practice since the beginning of the Northallerton
vocational training scheme in 1979 and I have been a trainer since 1991.
The
7
partners
and the registrar provide medical services to about
10,100
registered patients and dispense to about a third of them. The whole primary
health care team is based at the surgery making communication easy. |

This is a small cathedral city proud of its history. Nearby is Fountains Abbey, now a world
heritage site. The wakeman blows his
horn in the market place to sound the curfew every night and the 1300 year old
cathedral has the oldest Saxon crypt in the country. Two
of the three practices in the town have training status. A
long established, lively, busy, suburban/rural practice. The surgery has recently been extended to
provide spacious accommodation. It has
access to a community hospital and shares responsibility for the minor injuries
unit with other practices in the city. Special interests include homeopathy, learning disabilities,
manipulation, minor surgery, family planning.

A small town beneath the Yorkshire moors. A lovely river
meanders through the town which was the birth place of Captain Cook. We
practice from a recently refurbished health centre and enjoy a friendly
young team. As well as training I am course organiser and have been
involved in undergraduate teaching at the new local medical school. |
