Would you like to live and train in a beautiful region with great career opportunities?

If you are considering GP as a career and would like advice regarding the training programme, please contact us via our secretary. We can offer one to one advice or a day of work experience to give a taster of life as a trainee at Northallerton.

We are happy to discuss rotations and placements with you and help you with your choices.  If you would just like to talk things through, please give us a ring and we'll see if we can help.

Reasons to train at Northallerton

  • Friendly scheme with excellent tuition and support- we usually accomodate around 30 trainees which allows us to offer training catered to individual needs
  • Excellent trainee feedback- please look at the posts for information and testimonials

  • Close links with the MDHU, military trainees attend our training programme

  • Our trainees are very successful in securing employment locally- in the past 4 years, more than 20 Northallerton trainees have taken jobs in the Hambleton & Richmondshire and North Yorkshire area

"I feel lucky to have been part of the Northallerton GP VTS scheme. I have learnt lots over the 3 years and have made many friends. The scheme prepeared me well for life after VTS and I use many of the skills that I developed whilst on the scheme as a Partner in a busy surgery."- Newly qualified local GP from our scheme
